Clearer about the trial.

While the trial runs, a small chip in the notch shows the hours left, with a Buy link.
When the trial ends, the notch says so and offers Unlock for $12, Enter licence key… and Read my notes. Notes become read-only: you can still read, search, copy, export and sync every note.
Buy Inkling… and Enter licence key… sit at the top of the menu bar menu, and Licence has its own tab in Settings.
Clearer messages when a key is mistyped, belongs to another app, or is already on three Macs.
A paid licence is never taken away because your Mac is offline.

Optional iCloud sync. Turn it on in Settings → Data on each Mac, or on the last step of the welcome tour. It uses your own private iCloud, and there is no Inkling account.
Notes, attachments, custom templates, pins, and deletions all travel. Each day’s note is the same note on every Mac.
Edits made on two Macs merge line by line. If both changed the same line, Inkling keeps one in the note and saves the other beside it, so nothing you wrote is lost.
A line under the switch says when Inkling last synced, or what it is waiting for: an iCloud sign-in, a connection, or free iCloud storage.
Sync stays off until you turn it on. Version history and settings stay on each Mac.

Capture, edit, search, and organize notes inside your Mac’s notch.
Headings, checklists, highlights, links, quotes, code, and editable tables.
Daily scratchpads, built-in and custom templates, pinned notes, tags, note links, and local version history.
Night and Paper themes, five accent colors, and Lively, Calm, or Still settings for Ink.
Command-Return saves and closes the notch with a small acknowledgement. Reopening returns to the note you were viewing.
Markdown import, Markdown/RTF/PDF export, and daily local library backups.
A 24-hour trial and a $12 one-time licence for up to three Macs.

Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Universal app for Apple silicon and Intel. The app and installer are Developer ID signed and notarized by Apple.

Table cells support plain text, rows, and columns, without spreadsheet formulas or merged cells.
